What is the PurAire DUO?
The PurAire DUO is a compact, lightweight portable bipolar ioniser designed for commercial odour control and targeted indoor air treatment.
Using Glass DBD (Dielectric Barrier Discharge) bipolar ionisation, the DUO helps remove persistent cigarette and cigar smoke odours, vape odours, food and durian smells, body odours, mustiness, urine related odours, renovation smells and VOC-related odours. Weighing just 1.2 kg, and only 38 cm long, it can be moved easily between hotel guest rooms, offices, restaurants, newly renovated spaces, clinics, serviced apartments and other commercial environments.
Simple Hi/Lo output control makes the DUO easy to deploy wherever additional odour treatment is required.

How Quickly Can The PurAire DUO Reduce Odours?
Treatment time depends on the size of the space, the type and concentration of the odour, airflow, environmental conditions and the output setting selected.
Based on PurAire’s field experience, odour removal in a typical enclosed room of approximately 30 m² usually only takes about 10 to 20 minutes under normal conditions.
Stronger odours, heavier contamination or larger spaces may need longer treatment. Results vary, and a specific treatment time cannot be guaranteed for every application.
How Does the PurAire DUO Work?
Our DUO uses 2 Glass DBD Bipolar Ionisation tubes to produce Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) bipolar ionisation (positive and negative Oxygen ions).
A controlled electrical discharge generates positive and negative ions that are introduced into the surrounding air.
Unlike particle filtration, which treats air as it passes through filter media, bipolar ionisation introduces ions into the treated air itself and saturates the room with these powerful ions. These ions then interact with the airborne contaminants and odour compounds eliminating them or reducing them.
PurAire DUO vs HEPA Air Purifiers
HEPA filters are designed primarily to capture airborne particles as air passes through the filter. They are highly effective for particle filtration but are not, primarily designed to treat and remove gases or odour molecules.

Place the DUO in the room requiring treatment, select the either high or low ionisation power, appropriate ionisation output and turn it on. Always place the unit at least a meter above the floor and leave the room aircon or a fan operating to help the ion circulation. Treatment time depends on room size, airflow and the source and severity of the odour.
