Continuous Odour Control for Toilets, Clinics, Guest Rooms and Vehicles
The PurAire MiniPro Series includes 4 compact Glass DBD bipolar ionisers for different wall mounted applications, from single washrooms and small rooms to larger commercial spaces, restaurants and 24 V vehicle installations.
Each model has its own coverage, airflow, filtration and control configuration, so the correct MiniPro should be selected for the actual space rather than by model number alone.
Cleaning removes what is on the surfaces. It does not remove what is in the air — urine smell – ammonia and hydrogen sulphide, the two compounds behind most toilet odours, released from urinals, drains, grout, and porous surfaces faster than ventilation or chemicals can clear them.
The usual answer is a fragrance dispenser, which adds a smell on top of the smell. It needs refills, it needs batteries, and anyone who has walked into a toilet that smells of synthetic mango or roses, and urine knows how well it works!
The PurAire MiniPro takes a different approach. Our Glass DBD generated bipolar ionisation breaks the chemical bonds in the odour compounds themselves. No masking fragrances needed – odours reduced or eliminated.
The MiniPro Series consists of four wall-mounted Glass DBD bipolar ionisers for continuous treatment of enclosed commercial spaces — toilets, meeting rooms, VIP or private dining rooms, clinics, consult rooms, guest rooms, small offices, and now – vehicle cabins.
They mount on the wall, run continuously and need no attention beyond an occasional tube wash. There is no fragrance cartridge, no refill schedule and no battery.
MiniPro-1, MiniPro-2 and MiniPro-3 are intended for building applications. The MiniPro-4, runs on 24 V DC and is built for buses, trains, trucks and specialty vehicles.
Start with the space, not the model number — the numbering does not run in order of capacity. The MiniPro-3 covers a larger area than the MiniPro-2, and it is the quietest.

Coverage figures assume a typical enclosed commercial space. Ceiling height, ventilation, occupancy and how strong the odour source are important considerations in model selection. Tell us the space and we will recommend which model fits.
The most compact model for keeping toilets, hotel guest rooms and small offices consistently fresh.
There are no filters to replace, making it well suited to smaller toilets, consult rooms, small offices and meeting rooms where a compact unobtrusive wall-mounted unit is preferred.
Adjustable ion output allows the unit to be matched to the needs of the room.
For larger toilets, guest rooms, hotel suites, meeting rooms and offices where the MiniPro-2’s higher airflow is required.
Two 180 mm Glass DBD tubes and airflow adjustable up to 460 m³/h make the MiniPro-2 suitable for larger washrooms and other enclosed commercial spaces with persistent odour loads.
A HEPA filter is available as an option; it is not fitted as standard. The MiniPro-2 is not UL 2998 validated.
The largest stated coverage in the MiniPro range and the quietest model at ≤40 dB. MiniPro-3 uses a 200 mm Glass DBD tube, with a second tube available as an option, plus adjustable fan speed and ionisation output.
A washable cotton filter is fitted.
Built for vehicles. 24 V DC, 60 mm deep, 3 kg, in an aluminium alloy shell designed to survive transport use. Two 80 mm tubes and 220 m³/h for buses, trains, trucks and specialty vehicles where odour control has to run continuously and nobody is going to service it weekly.
A primary particulate filter is fitted to protect the ionisation assembly from road dust and extend its service life. App control, remote control and ion output control are available as options.
| Fragrance Sprayer | PurAire MiniPro | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Adds a scent on top of the odour | Breaks the chemical bonds in the odour compounds |
| Consumables | Refill cartridges and batteries, monthly | None on the MiniPro-1. A washable filter on the MiniPro-3. |
| Ongoing cost | Recurring, per unit, forever | Tube replacement at end of service life |
| What people notice | Fragrance and odour together | Neither |
For facilities teams managing multiple washrooms, one of the practical differences is the recurring refill programme. A fragrance system requires regular cartridge replacement, while MiniPro maintenance is minimal and infrequent.
The Glass DBD tubes are rated at 17,000 operating hours. They are washed with soap and water roughly once a year and replaced at the end of their service life.
Filters vary by model, and this is worth being precise about. The MiniPro-1 has no filter at all. The MiniPro-2 can be fitted with a HEPA filter, but it is an option rather than standard. The MiniPro-3 has a washable cotton filter — rinse it, do not replace it. The MiniPro-4 has a primary particulate filter to protect the ionisation assembly in vehicle use.
Every PurAire product carries the same warranty: two years on the unit, one year on the tubes.
Room size, ceiling height, how many people use it, how it is ventilated, and what the odour problem actually is. We will tell you which MiniPro fits — or whether the answer is a different product entirely.

Start with the space rather than the model number. MiniPro-1 covers 20 to 40 m², MiniPro-2 covers 50 to 80 m², MiniPro-3 covers 50 to 100 m², and MiniPro-4 covers 50 to 80 m² for 24 V vehicle applications. Ceiling height, ventilation, occupancy and odour load also matter.
The MiniPro utilizes Glass DBD Bipolar Ionisation to molecularly break down Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulfide, which are the primary sources of toilet odours. Instead of masking the smell with chemicals or fragrances from those wall mounted sprayers, it destroys the odour molecules on contact.
A fragrance dispenser adds a scent intended to cover or mask an existing odour. A MiniPro uses Glass DBD bipolar ionisation to help remove selected odour compounds and does not use a masking fragrance cartridge.
Applications include urine-related and ammonia odours, drain and sewage-related odours, tobacco smoke, damp and musty odours, body odours, food smells and selected VOC-related odours from cleaning chemicals, furnishings and refurbishment.
MiniPro-1 is the compact option for smaller individual rooms. MiniPro-2 provides substantially greater airflow for larger or more heavily used spaces. MiniPro-3 offers adjustable fan speed and ionisation output with a lower published noise rating.
No. MiniPro units are designed for fixed wall-mounted installation and continuous treatment. For portable room-to-room use, PurAire DUO or AirPro-MAX is more appropriate.
Adjustment depends on the model. MiniPro-1 provides adjustable ionisation output, while MiniPro-3 provides adjustable fan speed and ionisation control. Always refer to the specification for the exact model.
Yes. MiniPro-4 is the 24 V DC vehicle model, designed for buses, trains, trucks and other specialty vehicles. App control, remote control and ionisation-output control are available as options.

Selection should consider room size, airflow, occupancy, noise requirements, mounting location and the odour problem being addressed. Larger floor area alone does not automatically determine the correct model.
